Little Shuswap Indian Band

The Little Shuswap Lake Indian Band is located along the eastern end of the Little Shuswap Lake and along the western and northern end of the Big Shuswap Lake and follows along the Adams River and Little River. The Band has five parcels of land encompassing 3,112.7 hectares.

With the creation of the Department of Indian Affairs in 1872 and six Indian agency's established throughout BC, Williams Lake; Kamloops; Okanagan; Kootenay, each appointed to administrate to the various Shuswap Bands (Smith;1998:3-4).
