About the HPT The HPT is for experienced athletes who wish to compete at the provincial, national and world competitions. HPT athlete’s goals must be inline with the goals of the FNST and its partners. All HPT members must reflect a holistic approach to maintain their position on the HPT. Athlete Agreement All athletes must sign an athlete agreement to ensure overall teams and individuals success. Training The FNST High Performance Team (HPT) Model is a training system that is supported by many partners. HPT members must earn their equipment and passes through their commitment to the scheduled training. The YWCA is instrumental to our dry land training, providing coaches, facilities and accommodations for our athletes. The CWSAA is eminent in supporting our winter training by providing the resources for Aboriginal youth to train and compete at ski areas. Creating new partnerships is essential to the growth of FNST. High Performance Team Training The FNST’s main goal is to provide the following training to boarders to assist them in competing in competitions:
Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructor (CASI) Certificates The FNST will be assisting our members to receive their level 1, level II certifications and basic freestyle coach certificates in order to train our REC Program athletes. Canadian Snowboard Federation (CSF) HPT athletes who dream of one day becoming coaches receive there CSF Basic Coaching Course and NCCP level 1 certification. These members go on to instruct the recreational members during the RBC riders competitions; hosted by FNST. How to start a FNST HPT?
